Larry Lyons
Mr. Lyons retired from Chrysler January 1, 2010, after 44 years in the automobile industry. Most recently Larry was VP of Core Components, Process, and International Engineering. His first assignment at Chrysler was Product Team Vice President, responsible for product development of small cars, and Performance Vehicle Operations, which included Viper and Prowler. During the 9+ years as Product Team VP, responsibilities expanded to include midsize and large cars, minivans and crossover vehicles.
Larry’s automotive career began with GM in Flint, Michigan, at Buick Motor Division in 1965. He worked in various test and product design positions, becoming Assistant Chief Engineer in 1986. Transferring to Oldsmobile Division in 1998, he was responsible for the engineering and planning of all Oldsmobile products, plus the divisions Motor Sports activities. He then joined Cadillac Luxury Car Division, where he ultimately became Director of Engineering, overseeing the design, build, and development of GM’s large and luxury models. In 1997, the Director position was expanded to include midsize cars, sports vehicles, and minivans. Larry joined Chrysler in 1999, where he spent his final 10 years in the industry.
